  3. is, we really have homogenized our schools and factories and 
  4. cities and entertainment to a great extent, just because we are 
  5. literate and do accept the logic of uniformity and homogeneity 
  6. that is inherent in Gutenberg technology. This logic, which had 
  7. never been accepted in Europe until very recently, has suddenly 
  8. been questioned in America, since the tactile mesh of the TV 
  9. mosaic has begun to permeate the American sensorium. When 
  10. a popular writer can, with confidence, decry the use of the car 
  11. for travel as making the driver ‚Äúmore and more common,‚Äù the 
  12. fabric of American life has been questioned.

  14.      Only a few years back Cadillac announced its ‚ÄúEl Dorado 
  15. Brougham‚Äù as having anti-dive control, outriggers, pillarless 
  16. styling, projectile-shaped gull-wing bumpers, outboard exhaust
